As you can tell I haven’t blogged in FOREVER, but my sweet talented friend Janet Mitchell offered to help me write since I struggle with writer’s block. Plus I think we make an awesome team! Trust me when I say it takes a village to run a business, be a wife, a daughter, a mom and a friend. I don’t know about you, but I can use all the help I can get!
Romans 8:28 tells us “… that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Never is this more evident then when I meet couples and hear their love story. How else can you explain how a middle school youth pastor from Buffalo met and fell in love with a laid back California girl who just happens to be a middle school teacher and counselor? Seriously, I can’t make this stuff up. On the surface these two look like night and day, but spend some time with Justin and Brittany and you can not only see the love… you can feel it!
Meet Justin. He’s often described as “the coolest dude ever,” by his middle school students. He’s a little loud and doesn’t mind being in the spotlight. He might even be a little crazy (which I think is a job requirement when you minister to thousands of middle school kids), but one thing is for sure, he loves what he does and he is head over heels in love with Brittany. This California girl is sweet, a little more reserved, and a self-proclaimed introvert. So, when she met Justin she knew her life was going to be shaken up.
Justin told me he wanted to surprise Brittany with a photo shoot for their first wedding anniversary. As you can imagine I love surprises so I was giddy as he shared his plans of a romantic getaway that included elements from their wedding. Remember, I said you could “feel” the love. Justin had the top tier of their wedding cake remade, ordered flowers to replicate their centerpiece and had it all set up so Brittany could relive some of the special moments from their wedding day. Yup, this is what dreams are made of!
God’s timing is perfect! Happy first anniversary Justin and Brittany!

There are so many little things I love about the Aguon family… Besides the fact that they are generous not only to those around them, but to those in need. I have seen this first hand!
The Aguon’s are genuinely seeking what God has laid out for them to do. They are blessed to be parents to their firstborn son. Then the Aguon’s felt God leading them to adoption… which lead them on their first adoption journey of a baby girl from china. A few years later. God gave them the opportunity to foster and adopt two more children. YES two! In a matter of months they adopted a little boy and newborn girl. You see no one wanted these two because they were born with Down Syndrome. But the Aguon’s have chosen to take them in completely, regardless of their extra chromosome or what society might see as outcasts. Without hesitation, the Aguon family is completely in love with their new son and daughter. They see their new little ones as a blessing, as pure, as flawless… just as we should see them! As an outsider I am overwhelmed by the Augon’s love and commitment to adoption. I can only imagine family dinners being a little crazier, life being a lot fuller and the Aguon’s being doubly blessed! Thank you so much for the honor of capturing your adoption story and for setting an example of what God’s family looks like.
October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month so my hope is to bring you a glimpse of the beauty and love in this precious family.
this mr & mrs is something special… after just a few times of meeting suzanne & case i fell in love with their sweet love story.
from their first glances at each other during a volley ball game to case proposing on the top of a mountain in mammoth, these two have melted my heart.
it’s not the big things that wow them but it is in the little moments, from sharing a cupcake, to singing in a row boat.
i’m pretty excited to see this next adventure in marriage that they get to share together!
forever starts now!
Have you ever had one of those dreamy days… one that if filled with big pink peonies, sparkly gold glitter floating away on a big puffy cloud? That is how I would describe these two as they tied the knot. Becky woke up giddy, texting, getting ready, making sure everything was in place… Francis tried to stay calm but inside was jumping up and down ready to meet his bride at the train station.
The train felt like it took an eternity to pass but just as it did, they got their first glances at one another. Becky practically ran across in her Valentino’s and Vera Wang dress.. Oh it was the cute cutest thing ever.. As they met in the middle people broke out in cheers! They soaked up every moment kissing and finally wrapping their arms around each other as if they were the only two people in the world! It was perfect.
Then they spent some time before the wedding strolling around the beautiful Mission gardens. From time to time I could hear becky whisper look at the butterflies… this is my dream… and francis did not take his eyes of his bride to be for one second.
The wedding was probably one of the moving ceremonies. As Becky walked down the aisle, applaud broke out!! I had never seen that happen, guests were so moved by becky and her tearful entry with her dad. It was amazing to feel how much love was in that place.
Every detail was perfect.
Every dance was filled with love.
Every toast was a testimony to the love they share.
Wishing you a lifetime of beautiful moments together!

Amy and Scott love to spend time in one of their favorite books systematic theology… yes it’s way above my head too! Little did they know that teaching and leading a class at church would open their eyes and hearts to each other. They were giddy playing in the fields, dancing into the sunset and soaking in one of their last nights together before Scott left to serve our country. It was a tender celebration of love, and of letting go…
so… until we say hello again, let’s soak it in, let’s laugh out loud, and cling on to each other!
If I were to describe Becky & Francis I would have to add a little smile at the end of every sentence. Becky adds color and sparkle to everything she does and Francis is grounded and serves faithfully! I love how they are devoted to knowing each other. Whether it’s Francis proposing at Becky’s favorite stationary store, to Becky making Francis smile with the sparkle in her eye. They are perfect for each other, completing each other’s sentences and committing to loving each other always.
Congratulations soon to be Mr. & Mrs. Lee !
Nothing is more inspiring than to see someone love something, and to do it with their whole heart! I have learned about passion, serving, kindness and joy from my sweet friend Maria. Her talent amazes me. She is truly an artist. She doesn’t need the best equipment, best brushes, best canvas…. she paints from her heart. And it leaves me in awe.
Malia and Andrew met on a blind date! It is always amazing to see God’s handiwork when he brings two people and join them as one. Malia likes to run, Andrew likes to cycle. What I love about Andrew is that since he met Malia, he started to run with her, even overcoming tendonitis. He proposed to her by running along side her training for a race! Ok that’s pretty much true love right there!
I’m still in awe that Malia made her own wedding dress! She looked absolutely stunning! It was a beautiful day celebrating two people in love committing every day to serving each other! I wish you both the best adventures together!
Diane’s bubbly & organized personality fits perfectly with Matt who is funny and outgoing. Upon meeting them, my heart delighted when they literally could not take their eyes off each other yet they were grounded in their goals to save and to prepare for their future. There was pure JOY in their wedding day as Matt’s dad married them, and they were surrounded with family and friends who promised to walk with them through life! May you two have the biggest most beautiful life together! And may all the little details that were sprinkled through your wedding day continue as you commit yourselves daily to each other!
oh my I’m embarrassed at how long it has been since I’ve done a personal post… So let’s get personal..
God has been speaking to my heart. Straight to my heart and breaking it, crumbling it and molding it.
I’m ashamed to say most of my life I just wanted to fit in… I wanted to be popular, I wanted to be pretty and have pretty things… I wanted to marry a prince and have the perfect children with the perfect lil house…. But God is wrecking my life and changing it. Part of this wrecking process is showing me I have been called to be different, to be set apart…
You see she is the one in the photo with out a tutu, with out point shoes, with out pale skin. She is the youngest, she is shy, she does not want to have any attention on her. These are the things that I see… because I so desperately just want her to fit in!
But God sees her as chosen, beloved, fearfully and wonderfully made. Knit together in my womb and put together for His glory. She is happy to be here. She is comfortable not having a tutu or point shoes because she knows she is dancing for her Maker. But you see I spend so much time trying to dance for man, I forget about what God has called me to do.
My dear friends. As Advent is upon us. My hope is for you to know that you are deeply loved, chosen, set apart for His Kingdom. That you are holy and beloved. That no matter the condition of your heart, He loves you, He cares for you, He wants to be close to you. And as we relish in His love, I challenge you to love more, to be set apart, to not blend in, but to shine of His great love for us in all circumstances.
Hold me to this friends! LOVE YOU & Let’s be DIFFERENT! :)
